Happy Birthday, Nana!

08 June 2011

Perhaps one day soon we will adorn the windows of this blog with the (edited) story of little Jake's birth but today...Today my father's mother, Nana June, turns 39 again.
She spent the weekend before her auspicious birthday partying hearty in Rhode Island at my cousin's wedding. She danced a lot and apparently was quite a hit with the photographers.
In less than two weeks the globe-trotting grandmother is making the grand trip to LA to meet her first great-grandchild. We can't WAIT to see her.
Here she is in her snazzy car...
Here she is at my wedding two summers ago
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NANA!! WE'RE THINKING OF YOU ALL DAY OVER HERE!

In other news...

Today was Baby Jake's due date. So much for that.

We went to the pediatrician. This was the first big outing since we brought Jake home. Papa Jacob called it his "second biggest exit."

We're making lots of scrunchy faces:

We don't fuss very much and we sleep pretty good. And sometimes we're awake and being awake looks a lot like this:
[be warned, this is a little long...but you'll get to see a pretty legit little smile and lots of other adorable faces if you hang in there]
 Take care, all!

  4. I've had a few cute nephews over the years now and even a few cute grand nephews, but little Jake is right up there with the cutest of the cuties! It's hard to believe we all start out this way... When Anna and Rachel were newborns, Steve and I spent most of our waking hours just looking and loving our new little sweethearts! We decided it was good that they didn't do a whole lot at first - it would be too overwhelming! Enjoy these wonderful moments and keep them in your hearts forever!
